Positive Material Idenification of Metals
Chemical analysis of metal alloys is performed using an ARL 3460 vacuum Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES). This state of the art instrument is capable of analyzing samples for carbon, sulfur, phosphorus, chromium, nickel, manganese, aluminum, silicon, magnesium, cobalt, zinc, copper, lead, niobium, titanium, molybdenum, vanadium, tin, tungsten and iron.
This system is capable of testing several base alloys.

Metal powders, chips, wire and sub-size samples are often analyzed by preparing them with our remelt button furnace. This procedure enables us to analyze non-standard size samples spectrographically.
