Detecting Susceptibility to Intergranular Corrosion in Wrought, Nickel-Rich, & Chromium-Bearing Alloys
This is a test for detecting susceptibility to intergranular attack on most nickel base alloys. There are two methods covered by this specification.
- Method A- Ferric Sulfate-Sulfuric Acid Test
- Method B, Mixed Acid-Oxidizing Salt Test
METHOD A—Ferric Sulfate—Sulfuric Acid Test is applied to the following alloys in the wrought condition:
